AUTORIV A240 - stationary robotic work stations with automated feeding of fasteners and small parts. The robot handles the component. AUTORIV A240-PD2-P insertion unit is designed for fully automatic, process-secure assembly of clinching, self-piercing and riveting nuts and studs. AUTORIV A240-BI is a work station for automated assembly of blind rivet fasteners. The insertion units are operated in combination with the A000-A2 feeding system.

Technical details

The A240-PD2-P insertion unit is generally designed for the processing of bolts or nuts. The force is introduced with a hydro-pneumatic power pack. The base of the C-frame houses the electrics and pneumatic controls and protects them from dirt or damage. The base panel is removable on one side for quick and easy access to the components.

Further technical information:

  • Dimensions of the setting unit (x,y,z) for 80kN/150kN: 939 x 423 x 2025 mm
  • Dimensions of the setting unit (x,y,z) for 300kN: 1120 x 423 x 2490 mm
  • Press-in forces: Either 80 kN, 150 kN or 300 kN are available at 6 bar compressed air supply
  • Feed strokes: Depending on the jaw height of the C-frame, 0 to 200 mm or 0 to 250 mm feedstrokes are possible
  • The insertion height of the components is customized and can be freely selected from 1000 mm upwards.
  • The setting unit can be easily connected to the A000-A2 feeding unit up to a distance of 10 m. Special lengths of up to 12 m are possible.

 

C-frame with variable size and jaw depth

The C-frame of the A240-PD2-P work station is available in the required height and depth in different sizes and can be adapted optimally to individual requirements and applications. The insertion unit has a universal, modular design. Jaw depths of 250 mm, 350 mm, 450 mm, 600 mm and 750 mm ensure the processing of large, projecting components at an optimally adapted cycle time.

Processing of clinching fasteners

This robotic work station is known for the fully automatic, process-reliable and high-quality processing of nuts and bolts with thread sizes M5 to M12.

 

A240-BI robotic workstations clinching self-piercing riveting fasteners

Variable connections in thin and thick metal sheets or plastic:

  • Press-in nuts (N) of the CP-series with pilot holes in the component. 
  • Self-piercing nuts (N) of the CP-series without pilot holes in one operation. 
  • Press-in bolts (S) of the CP-series with pilot holes in the component. 
  • Self-piercing bolts of the CP-series without pilot holes in one operation.  
  • Rivet nuts of the CP-series with pilot holes in the component. 

Nuts are available in the versions “round“ and “square“:

  • Outer diameter or edge length is min. 10 mm to max. 25 mm.
  • Total height is min. 4 mm to max. 25 mm.

Press-in bolts are available in the „round“ version: 

  • Processable shaft length of the bolts is max. 30 mm
  • Outer diameter of the head is min. 10 mm to max. 25 mm

In addition, we offer special fasteners for customer-specific applications.

Technical details

The A240-BI insertion unit is generally designed for the processing of blind rivet fasteners. The force is transmitted via a hydropneumatic pressure booster and a hydraulic cylinder. The insertion unit sits on a frame made of solid aluminium profiles. The frame contains the electrical components, the pressure booster as well as the pneumatic control elements and protects them from dirt or damage. Doors on both sides ensure quick and easy access to the components. Special adaptations of the setting unit are possible at any time on request.

Processing of blind rivet fasteners

The A240-BI robotic work station stands for fully automatic and process-reliable assembly of blind rivet nuts with thread sizes M5 to M10 and studs with sizes M5 to M8. Variable connections in thin and thick sheet metal as well as plastic are possible. The processing of the blind rivet nuts and studs of the BI-series takes place in a single work step, with pilot hole in the component.

Blind rivet nuts are available as round or hexagonal versions, with a head diameter of min. 10 mm to max. 22 mm, and a total height of min. 13 mm to max. 30 mm.

Blind rivet studs have a round shaft, with a shaft length of max. 30 mm. The outer diameter of the head is min. 10 mm to max. 22 mm.

Individual solutions for blind rivet fasteners are available upon request.
